How we moved from coach David's front yard to a 600 sq ft barn and landed in our new 4,800 sq ft commercial space
In 2012, after receiving his level 1 certification, coach David started teaching CrossFit to friends and family in the front yard of his home. He was also was working for the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office full time.
In 2013, the Tate family moved to a new home and they transformed their 600 square foot pole barn into a gym. There they acquired a few more members, bringing the total to about 13 people, and the dream of Risen Strength started to become a reality.
In 2016, coach David was ready to make a fulltime career out of CrossFit and Risen Strength was born! This was a big year for this fitness community. It was the first year RSCF hosted the annual Officer Down tribute event, and the first year that the gym members participated in Murph! It was also the start of partner/team Saturdays!
In 2017, with about 20 members, they packed up and moved from the beloved barn to a 2,400 square foot warehouse on the NW side of Gainesville.
Today, Risen Strength members work out in an amazing 4,800 square foot space with 4 bathrooms, 2 showers, more fun t-shirts than you can imagine, and over 70 members.
